Collaboration with Diaconia Kork
The Hanauerland Werkstätten, of which Diaconia Kork is a part, were founded in 1964. At that time, work therapy operations began in the converted rooms of a former stable building. Eleven years later, the first workshop in Kork, with 70 workplaces, was inaugurated. In the following decades, additional work areas and workshops, as well as therapeutic support and cafes, were established at various locations by the Hanauerland Werkstätten. Today, the Hanauerland Werkstätten offer over 500 jobs for people with disabilities. The focus is on paper processing, but products are also packaged, assembled, and finished. This provides a wide range of tasks to accommodate different performance capabilities. The Hanauerland Werkstätten are also active in vocational training and workplace integration. For people who cannot participate in working life due to their disabilities, therapeutic support is offered.
For 60 years now, the Hanauerland Werkstätten have been making a very important societal contribution, which we also support. Our European central warehouse in Willstätt has been collaborating with Diaconia Kork for 1.5 years. A team from Diaconia Kork takes on special orders in the field of packaging for us. As a gesture of our appreciation for the excellent collaboration, we donated sunglasses to the team at the end of July, much to their delight.
